What are the recommended drying temperatures and times for different filaments?

Recommended settings vary by material:

- PLA: 45–50 °C for 4–6 hours (Be careful not to overheat PLA, or it will fuse on the spool).
- PETG / ABS / ASA: 55–60 °C for 4–6 hours.
- TPU / Nylon / PC: 65–68 °C for 6–8+ hours.

Always refer to your specific filament manufacturer's guidelines as well.

Can I print directly from the dryer box while it is heating?

Yes! The LANDU Filament Dryer Box is designed with a print-while-drying functionality. It features sealed feed outlets that allow your 3D printer to pull the filament smoothly out of the box while the 360° heating and internal circulation keep the remaining spool dry.

Will drying a spool at too high of a temperature ruin my PLA filament?

Yes. PLA has a low glass transition temperature. If you set the dryer box above 55 °C for standard PLA, the outer layers of the filament can soften and fuse together on the spool (forming a solid block). Always keep PLA drying temperatures strictly between 45–50 °C.

Is it safe to leave the dryer box running overnight or unattended?
